Starting June 1, 2007, anyone selling a house must prepare a Home Information Pack (HIP). Failure to do so could result in a £200 fine. Estate agents will require the HIP before listing your property, and buyers' solicitors will not proceed without it. The HIP includes an Energy Performance Certificate, sale statements, standard searches, and evidence of title. To avoid delays and fines, ensure you prepare the HIP as soon as you decide to sell.
